Kathmandu: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Narayan Kaji Shrestha has promised to embrace positive interventions to bring about reforms in the economy with partnership between the government and private sector.
Inaugurating the 14th general assembly of Nepal Wool Felt Producer’s and Exporter’s Association in the Capital City on Thursday, he said necessary steps would be initiated by taking the private sector on board for the recovery of the worsening economic condition of the country.
The government was in favour of maintaining good-governance, capacity building for increasing capital expenditure and substitute imports by increasing productions in the country. “The government is always ready for cooperation with the private sector along with needed policy provisions for the betterment of people’s livelihood in the country through socio-economic transformation, according to DPM Shrestha.
On the occasion, he said the government would take serious and effective measures for the reforms in the economy after the completion of the cabinet expansion.
Likewise, Secretary at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies Dr Toyanarayan Gyawali urged the business community to offer their feedback to make the economy vibrant as the government was working in budget making process.
Also speaking at the event, President of Federation of Nepalis Chamber of Commerce and Indsutry (FNCCI) Shekhar Golchha drew attention of the government to lower the bank’s interest rate along with the industry-friendly policy and programmes.
