Mahendranagar: A woman died on the spot when a tiger attacked her today at bordering Dudhwa National Park in India.
The 32-year-old woman of Bhimbasti in Punarbash Municipality-10 in Kanchanpur district was fatally mauled by the wild cat when she went to bordering National Park to collect fodder for her cattle.
According to the Area Police Office, Tribhuvanbasti, the deceased has been identified as Kalasha Sarki.
Police Inspector Naresh Raj Malla shared that a group of 7 to 8 local women had been to the jungle lying within the radius of 1.5 kilometres from the SSB No 8 Camp in the Indian side. “The tiger attacked Kalasha while they were cutting grass,” said Malla.
Other women accompanying Kalasha area safe, said police. The dead body would be handed over to the Nepal Police after undergoing a due process such as taking statements from the witnesses among others. “Post-mortem examination of the dead body will be conducted at Belauri Primary Health Centre today itself,” informed Malla. Bruises have been reported in the deceased’s head and neck, it was said.
