Japanese couple provides financial support to Parbat school

Parbat: Two Japanese citizens have provided Rs 535,000 in cash to a school in Parbat district to purchase a vehicle. Japanese national Matsusita Hiroyuki and his wife Riyo Mito provided the amount to Sarswati Secondary School at Bajung village in Modi Rural Municipality-5, Parbat.

The couple handed over the cash to the school headmaster, Ajaya Lamichhane, at a function on Thursday. The couple had also supported to build school buildings for the school two decades ago.
Headmaster Lamichhane said that the Nagasaki Nichi Lions Club of Japan had also provided Rs 1 million for the school to procure the school bus.

The Japanese couple visits the school there in every two years and attends different programmes, it is said. According to headmaster Lamichhane, the poor and talented students are given scholarship and education materials and are also provided with different skills.

Prof Dr Khadga KC had reached out the Japanese couple to receive support for the school. Prof Dr KC, a resident of Bajung village, is now the Rector of Tribhuvan University (TU).
