Kathmandu: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has extended best wishes to all Nepali sisters and brothers across the world on the occasion of Tihar festival, 2079.
In a congratulatory message, she has wished happiness, peace, prosperity and progress to all Nepalis. The message reads, “I extend my best wishes of Tihar festival, 2079 with a belief that this festival will help further strengthen national unity by increasing mutual harmony, fraternity and brotherhood among all Nepalis.”
“Tihar is the festival of lights. This festival strengthens the relations between brothers and sisters. May this festival bring happiness to all Nepalis”, she said.
The head of the nation stressed that the good traditions and practice protects Nepali culture, but negative aspects of festival like gambling should be removed gradually.
Tihar is the second largest festival of Nepali Hindus which is celebrated for five days.
