Nepal defeats Baroda by 27 runs

Kathmandu: Nepal defeated Baroda of India by 27 runs to register its second win under the ongoing friendly T20 cricket tournament in Gujarat, India.

In the match held today at the Sai Meghpan Sporrtslife Ground in Vapi, Gujarat, after being invited to bat first by Baroda, visitors Nepal scored 156 runs at the loss of 6 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs.

Kushal Malla scored an unbeaten 40 runs for Nepal while Sandeep Zora scored 29 runs, captain Rohit Kumar Paudel scored 18 and Gulsan Kumar Jha contributed 13 runs to the Nepali total. For the bowling side, Baroda’s Baba Khan took two wickets and Parikshit Patidar and Mohit Mongia took one wicket each.

In reply, Baroda were all out with only 129 runs on the board, and thereby losing by 27 runs. Bhanu Pania scored 36 runs, Baba Khan scored 27 and captain Vishnu Solanki scored 25 runs for Baroda.

Nepal’s Karan KC took three wickets, Sompal Kami and Avinash Bohra took two wickets each and Gulsan Kumar Jha and Dipendra Singh Airi took one wicket each.

Nepal will play its third match against Gujarat on Wednesday. Earlier, in the first match, Nepal defeated had Gujarat by 8 wickets.
