Kathmandu: Bhutan has defeated the Maldives in today’s match held under SAFF U-20 football Championship underway in Kathmandu.
In the match held at ANFA Complex, Satdobato, Bhutan beat Maldives by 2-1. With this victory, Bhutan and India in a Group ‘B’ have gathered equal three points. The Maldives remains pointless. Earlier, India had defeated Bhutan by 1-0 in the first match.
For Bhutan’s victory, Jignam Dorjee and Nowang Chopel scored one goal each. For Maldives, Firak scored one goal. Bhutan scored first and second goal against the Maldives in 22 minutes and 89 minutes respectively of the match while the Maldives had made it 1-1 in the 59th minute.
Host Nepal will face Bangladesh in the match to be held at the same venue at 3:00 pm tomorrow.
