Kathmandu: The government has formed five committees in the Council of Ministers and has named the coordinators too. A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Thursday constituted the political, administration, economic infrastructure, legislation and social committees.
According to the Government Spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung, the coordinators of the committees have been named on the basis of their areas of scope.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakashman Singh was named the coordinator of the political committee while Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel would lead the economic infrastructure committee.
Likewise, Minister Gurung is named the coordinator of the administration committee. Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Sarat Singh Bhandari and Minister for Home Affairs Ramesh Lekhak have been assigned as the coordinators of the social committee and the legislation committee, respectively.
Furthermore, Bishnu Rimal was appointed the chief political advisor of the Prime Minister and Dr Yubraj Khatiwada as the economic advisor.
Spokesperson Gurung said that the cabinet meeting has approved the participation of the Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Dr Ganesh Prasad Pandey in the 46th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee to be held in New Delhi from July 21.
