Kathmandu: The Janamat Party has decided to field Mamata Jha as the candidate of Vice-President.
A central executive committee meeting of the party held on Friday took the decision to this effect, said Vice-President of the party, also the Minister for Water Supply, Abdul Khan.
He shared, “The party decided to make Jha the candidate for the vice-presidential election. However, discussion has not been held with alliance parties.”
Saptari district in-charge of Janamat Party, Jha had started political career from Sadbhawana Party. She was the mayoral candidate of Rajbiraj Municipality in the local-level election held on May 13, 2022.
Meanwhile, the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal had already decided to field Ramsahaya Prasad Yadav, a member of House of Representatives from Bara-2, as the candidate of Vice-President.
