Kaski: The Manav Sewa Ashram has been providing philanthropic service to the indigent people. The humanitarian organization has been offering its services based on the values of best quality life, virtual thinking and fraternity with the motto ‘there is no limitation of humanity’.
The Ashram that was established in Bagmati province headquarters, Hetauda, a decade ago has expanded its service in all seven provinces. The Ashram has been providing its service to the needy people through 23 service centres operational in 19 districts across the country.
The Manav Sewa had extended its service in Gandaki province headquarters, Pokhara, five years ago. Ashram’s treasurer and Gandaki coordinator Homnath Timilsina shared that they had started providing service after extending service centres at Chhorepatan and Hemja. “We are now providing service to 163 needy people from the two service centres”, he shared.
Ashram Chairperson Ramjee Adhikari informed that a well-equipped building is under construction in Pokhara at the cost of Rs 90 million. The purpose of the building construction is to expand the philanthropic service.
The Ashram is constructing a building on the 63-ropani land provided by Laxminarayan Sanatan Sanskar Pratishthan at Pokhara-25, Hemja Babiyatara. The Gandaki province government has so far provided financial assistance of Rs 14 million, Timilsina shared. Construction works worth Rs 50 million have been completed with support from the state agencies and other donors, he added.
Still it requires 40 million to complete the remaining construction of the building. For this, the Manav Sewa Ashram has appealed to the people from all walks of life.
Besides, the Ashram has run several programmes to raise fund to that end. Some days earlier, the Ashram had organized a musical programme for humanity. Now it has engaged its efforts in the preparation for hosting a Mahayagya.
The Mahayagya is to be held in the Ashram’s building construction site, Hemja, on 3-17 February for building construction and sheltering helpless, informed Mahayagya Coordinator Moti Bahadur Thapa.
