Kathmandu : Five people have succumbed to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. With a steady rise in the number of casualties, the death toll so far has reached 11,982 in the country, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.
During the same period, 815 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in 4,534 samples tested through the RT-PCR and Anitgen testing method in various laboratories across the country. The total number of cases has reached 992,146 so far. Another, 146,299 people have tested positive to Antigen testing method.
Likewise, 476 people recovered from the infection, taking the total recovered cases to 974,295. The recovery rate stands at 98.2 per cent. The case fatality rate is 1.2 per cent.
The total number of active cases of COVID-19 has climbed to 5,869. Of them, 5,677 are in home-based isolation, 192 in institutional isolation in different hospitals and health facilities, 60 admitted to the ICU units of the facilities while eight are undergoing treatment with the support of ventilator.
Meanwhile, 31,761 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 today. -RSS
